Armstrong Marine sends The United States Army Corps of Engineers in Florida a new survey boat.
Jacksonville, Florida has a new addition as Armstrong Marine, Inc. sent the USACE Florida a new hydrographic survey vessel this last week. This 30' Catamaran will be deployed to gather data and bring back information from the sea floor.
The USACE is a U.S. federal agency under the Department of Defense and a major Army command made up of some 38,000 civilian and military personel, making it the worlds largest public engineering, design, and construction management agency. Although generally associated with dams, canals, and flood protection in the United States, USACE is involved in a wide range of public works throughout the world. The USACE also commisioned Armstrong marine to build an Aluminum moveable HYPR Arm off the bow of the catamaran, and an A-Arm off the stern for lowering and picking up sonar equipment. This boat also can boast twin Yamaha 300 horse power outboard motors that carry it to 40+ knots, making it a quite formidable survey boat.
